Still better than in 2016 or 2017 when they advertised how many traffic deaths there were in Illinois and had it updated on a daily basis. It was a little disturbing heading to work every morning knowing how many people died while driving in IL the day before.

Saw this same message this morning and though it was pretty stupid. Kinda like telling someone not to think of the color red and being mad when they do. This sign was a meme waiting to happen.

Yeah, I was on the tristate every day at that time, and it was morbid.

I know exactly where that is, and it’s a bad spot, too - where goofballs are trying to get 2-4 lanes over in either direction because they’re not really clear on whether they want 90 or 94.

They did that in M ichigan for a while too. I came to appreciate it. It was sort of a wake up call, like, “Hey! this shit is dangerous!”

yeah my wife hated that. she always was like it would suck if you had to drive to work every day and be reminded that someone you love lost their lives in a car accident
